Do you enjoy the company of Older Adults? Would you like to make a difference with a few hours a week or month? 

Evergreen has a variety of life engaging opportunities for residents! To make this possible for our residents to enjoy in Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing, Wheelchair Transporters are needed to the following events:

Church Services on Wednesday's (9:00 am start time), Sunday Vesper Services (3:00 pm start time) and for various events throughout the week in the Worship & Performing arts Center. (times vary, evenings included)

Candidates must be independent, physically able to push wheelchairs & to attend the events with the residents.

**This would not be compatible for community service hour requirements or a short term assignment.

Volunteers must pass a background check and show proof of Covid-19 vaccination to be considered. 

Every Tuesday afternoon during the growing season, we escort residents to the Master Gardens on our property in order to meet with the Master Gardeners to visit and enjoy the beautiful gardens.  Once flowers are in bloom, Master Gardeners cut flowers, place in vases and send back with the residents to their rooms to enjoy.  

We could use the help of volunteers to escort our residents in wheelchairs out to the gardens on any given Tuesday afternoon from mid-June through the end of October, weather permitting.

Your friendly smile and knowledge would be appreciated by our patients and visitors at the Reception, Information, ER Reception or Oakwood Desks to greet and help patients find their destination. Duties may include delivering flowers and mail to patients, escorting patients and visitors. Each area has unique benefits and responsibilities for a volunteer.

The Mercy Hospital Gift shop is a cheery place to spend time as a volunteer and a great place to shop.  You will operate the cash register, credit card machine and assist customers with shopping for baby items, jewelry and accessories, candy and many other unique items.  Evening, weekend and daytime shifts are available.

Volunteers provide support to pharmacy staff while gaining knowledge and experience in a pharmacy. Duties include receiving drug orders, identifying orders, prioritizing and relaying orders to pharmacist for processing, assisting with clerical functions, and other duties under supervision.

Emergency Room- Volunteers assist Emergency department staff, patients and visitors with a variety of duties to enhance the customer service in Emergency Services.

Patient Care Unit 2- Volunteers provide light clerical duties, department specific tasks, and provide general assistance to department staff, visitors, and patients with non-medical aspects of care. Volunteers do not perform patient care tasks that require the training or education of a Certified Nursing Assistant or licensed health care employee.  Volunteer duties include set-up of surgical rooms for patients arriving the next morning and assist nursing staff with non-medical aspects of patient care.  

Rehab Unit - Socialize, read to patients or other individual activities as directed.

Volunteers who enjoy making craft items are wanted to assist with making paper flowers and other types of creations to be sold in the Gift Shop or given to patients. Creative volunteers are also needed to make tray favors to be given to Mercy patients. The gift of a light massage to a bedbound patient is indescribable. If you are a licensed massage therapist, we would love to have you join our compassionate team of hospice volunteers.

The comprehensive training you receive will help you to open your heart to understanding the circumstances a hospice patient and their loved ones are facing and give you the practical and emotional tools to feel confident about offering them the assistance you have been trained to provide.

Our volunteers work in the community - in patient’s homes, adult family homes, and nursing homes.

Volunteers are integral members of the hospice team and receive support from their team including the social worker and nurse assigned to the family they are working with.

Our donors are our number one priority, and you can make sure they are treated as such! As a Registration and Café Attendant, you welcome donors, check them in, and arrange the snacks, juice, coffee, and water available for donors once they have completed their donation. You also converse with the donors and ensure they are feeling healthy post-donation. This position is such a rewarding one as you are taking care of our donors to ensure they have a great experience and want to return! 

In addition to our Oshkosh location at 2100 Omro Road, we have openings at our other fixed-site donor centers in Appleton, Little Chute, Green Bay, Wausau, the Northwoods, and Chicago. There is no minimum number of hours you need to complete.

Coffee counter volunteers are the face of Solutions' Recovery Club and Welcome Center. The coffee counter volunteers welcome patrons, serve snacks, coffee, and other beverages in a recovery friendly atmosphere. 

Volunteers will be handling guest transactions, service with a smile : ) and additional welcome center upkeep : cleaning and restocking products.

Do you have 1 hour per month to help deliver meals to area seniors? Meals are picked up at Thedacare Regional Medical Center and delivered to a Neenah or Menasha route. Meals are picked up around 11am and routes typically take about 1 hour.

Hospice Volunteer Program | Aurora Health Care

Volunteers place calls to patient’s home approx. 6 months after their loss.  The volunteer call to the bereaved is to offer a listening ear, validate feelings and offer our bereavement resources: mailings, groups, one-on-one grief support, and future phone calls. 

Aurora Health at Home Hospice is a not-for-profit organization designed to provide services for terminally ill patients and their families. We will accommodate your schedule and provide flexible hours. Aurora Health at Home Hospice provides hands-on training.

Spiritual Services is in need of volunteers to distribute the Sacrament of the Eucharist to patients, as assigned by the spiritual services staff.  Ministers can serve any day of the week. Volunteers are required to be a Roman Catholic Eucharistic Minister approved by the Bishop or Bishop representative.

Come pamper our residents in assisting with painting their nails.  Once a week on Wed around 10:00am the residents in our assisted living gather to get their nails painted.  If you have a desire to help and to hold conversations we'd love to have you.

Assist program participants with maintaining balance and control and interpreting directions given by the Riding Instructor during lessons.

Do you like to cook or bake, possibly more than your family and friends can eat? Do you want to assist with meals at the Shelter, but cooking for 55 is way too overwhelming? Let Day by Day take the fruits of your labor one hot dish at a time. 

When Day by Day does not have a meal team, meal is provided by the Shelter. Our guests favorite Shelter provided meal is Casserole Smorgasbord. If you make a casserole for your family, consider making a second and dropping off at Day by Day. We will happily freeze to use for a future meal. 

Day by Day also serves snack and a continental breakfast, and baked goods and leftovers dropped off from large gatherings are always a fun surprise and a generous treat.

Special events need greeters and servers who enjoy meeting with people, as well as people to haul, set up, and clean up. Bakers can also contribute snacks and treats to our events. High school aged students are welcome to help. 

Do you love to create events or plan parties? The Oshkosh Area Girl Scouts would love your help! Whether you're planning a badge day, recruitment event or just a fun activity for girls to do, we would love your skills and help planning! Our service unit is an active unit and love to host events for the girls and their troops. 

If you have a special skill and think it would be fun to teach to girls, we'd love to hear from you! 

Big events, small events, we are open to ideas and we will work with you! 

We urgently need help with fundraising activities, and help at special events throughout the year including Day at the Derby in the spring, our new Christmas in July Carnival & Craft Fair, Holiday for the Horses and BOOfest in the fall, and Santa at the Ranch in December.

Wave Robotics is an after school STEAM program where students design, build, and code a robot. We are looking for mentors to help guide students during their educational journey. We seek to grow and foster both technical skills and administrative skills. Opportunities vary from supervising the metal shop, to coding with students, to proof reading their budget requests.

By volunteering as a mediator, you can make a meaningful difference, not only in the lives of people you personally guide through mediation but also in the broader community by promoting a culture of collaborative resolution building.

The Oshkosh Parks department manages and maintains several acres of parks, shoreline and trails. Volunteers are needed to assist with various landscaping tasks such as invasive species control, mulching and weeding of flowers beds, cleaning of boat docks, and more!

Volunteers will be provided with appropriate tools but may need to supply their own work/gardening gloves. Landscaping projects may require a stricter schedule, however, volunteers signing up for weekly/biweekly projects may have a more flexible schedule.

The Service Area of Oshkosh is an active group of volunteers and Girl Scouts.  Our team of Service Area volunteers coordinates events for girls throughout Oshkosh such as Lock Ins, cookie rally's, badge workshops, and community park cleanups.  If you aren't a parent, were perhaps a former Girl Scout, or just want to give back to girls in your community without a commitment to being a troop leader, we are always looking for volunteers to serve as Treasurer, Cookie or Fall Product Managers, Delegates to our Board, or if you have great outdoor skills you could become a trainer or Outdoor Champion.  

We urgently need volunteers to help with lawn care, landscaping, groundskeeping such as helping to maintain our bird and butterfly gardens and horse paddocks, general maintenance, and other work in and around the ranch.

Create a positive and improved quality of life for our seniors through taking them on a Trishaw ride to feel the wind in their hair, enjoy the outdoors and meet people along the way. After required training, volunteer will serve as a pilot and companion to the rider. Volunteers may also sign up to ride along with the resident as a companion.

Volunteer to assist a client in learning to ride public transit bus.

We have ongoing volunteer projects all year long.  Stuffing envelopes, folding, various handwork, sorting, etc.  Both sitting and standing jobs. 

Typically done between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday.  Very flexible scheduling, you can volunteer all day or just for a couple hours.

If you would be interested in learning the basics of how a TV show is put together, this volunteer opportunity is for you!!

Volunteers do not need to have any experience. We will provide all training. Crewmembers will work in rotating positions, as they become trained and are comfortable, in a variety of areas on the production of a cable access TV show, also shown on YouTube, and other social media sites. Positions will include camera person, floor director, audio, graphics, and eventually, director. 

We tape a new show twice monthly (the first and third Thursdays of each month). This may vary periodically, but not very often. Crewmembers arrive at the studio (located in the Oshkosh City Hall building) at 5:30pm and we usually wrap up about 7:30pm. 

If we have a large enough number of volunteers, crewmembers would not necessarily need to "work" both Thursdays in a month. But our crew currently works both Thursdays each month. 

Each week's show covers a different topic. We cover anything and everything that affects or would be of interest to people in the Oshkosh area. This includes: local politics and government; pet therapy and support dogs; local animal shelter happenings; fire safety and prevention; police department issues; poverty; affordable housing; United Way; the Oshkosh Public Library and Oshkosh Public Museum; veterans issues; dementia; breast cancer awareness; the local Farmers Market; food co-op store; etc.

As a crewmember, you will not only get to learn basics of TV production and have your name on the credits at the end of the show, but you will get to learn a lot of new things that our guests talk about, and meet a lot of new people, many of whom are great connections to have.

We are currently seeking assistance in the craft section at our store. The duties would be sorting, cleaning, pricing, and stocking crafting and sewing items. The hours are flexible and are typically, but not limited to, four hour shifts. Wednesdays are preferred. You are not required to wear a mask if vaccinated. We are looking for backup cashiers for our afternoon shift. We have openings M-F, but ideally someone who could come in at least once a week. Previous cashier experience a plus, but not required. We are seeking help in our linen department. This would include sorting and pricing donations of blankets, towels, sheets and pillows. You would be partnered with one of our current volunteers. There is no minimum hourly requirement, and we offer flexible scheduling. Come support your community through good works!

Volunteer will assist the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions with researching, digitizing, organizing and filing general media, collections and exhibits records. Prior experience with photography and digital scanning is helpful, but not compulsory.

You will help facilitate hands-on art activities during our Art Activity Days that we hold one Saturday a month. Set up and help families create small non-glass crafts throughout the museum. Or help people create down in the studio. No experience is required except confidence in working with the public.

Help with preparation, facilitation, and clean-up of different glass-based projects. Glass classes and Art Activity Days require a lot of preparation for smooth running. Learn and practice things like cutting, cleaning and grinding glass. Time commitment: 1-3 hours/week.

New Docent Training Program at Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass

What is a Docent?

A Docent is a museum volunteer who helps connect visitors with the collection and exhibitions of the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass. You will be able to confidently lead Museum tours for adult and school groups. Docents provide opportunities for Museum visitors to engage, interpret, and create personal connections with art.

How long is the training, and do I need previous experience?

Training involves five 2-hour sessions and no previous experience is required. The fifth session involves a final project which may extend the timing of the session. Training sessions will take place on Mondays from 3:00pm-5:00pm on June 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and July 8th. All sessions will be held on site at the Museum. More training sessions coming soon!

As the seasons change, so do the clothing needs of WMHI patients. We meet those needs by accepting, sorting, and displaying donated items in an area called Fashion Korner. Volunteers help sort donated clothing and make decisions concerning the items to be saved, given to other charities, or discarded. Other activities may include checking clothing racks for neatness and suitability, maintaining order in the fitting rooms, and decorating the area, with the option of helping patients select appropriate clothing. Volunteers should be able to assist four to six hours per month.

The Julaine Farrow Museum is located on the grounds of Winnebago Mental Health Institute and holds the history of WMHI and some of the early treatments for mental illness. We are looking for volunteers to help us catalog artifacts into PastPerfect (our computer database). Other responsibilities may include light housekeeping, yard work, and/or providing tours of the museum. The museum is open to the public each Thursday from 1 to 3:30pm, February through October. Volunteers should be able to contribute eight hours or more per month to the museum. 

Act as volunteer court appointed guardian for individuals deemed incompetent who require health care and/or financial decision-making assistance. This volunteer opportunity is a long term commitment. Individuals in need of a court appointed guardian may be referred to as "ward". Volunteer guardian would be responsible for annual financial reporting, at least quarterly visits with the "ward" and participation in "ward's" plan of care.  Initial training for volunteer guardians is provided by Winnebago County Aging and Disability Resource (ADRC) staff and full background check will be required. Time commitment will vary based on ward's needs. Communication with the ward, the court system, Adult Protective Services (APS) staff, service providers and financial institution(s) is required. 

Looking for Victim Crisis Response Volunteers to Address Trauma

The Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response (VCR) Team is looking to expand its services within Winnebago County, specifically to the Oshkosh area. The VCR team is a professional volunteer organization designed to assist local police departments in providing support, assistance and resources to members of the community and their families who are victims/survivors of crime or who are in crisis. Trained VCR volunteers respond directly to the scene when requested by members of the partnering police agencies. Last year, the VCR program responded to an average of 300 emergency calls, serving 1,300 community members. Based on the recommendations and work of the Winnebago County Overdose Fatality Reviews and the lead from the Oshkosh Police Department, the VCR program is looking for 10 volunteers to be trained and to begin volunteering this fall, so this successful program can meet the needs of Oshkosh community members. 

VCR volunteers will be working within Winnebago and Outagamie counties for a minimum of 12 hours of on-call time per month. Ideal volunteers are over 18, successfully pass a background check, and people who are understanding, empathetic, and compassionate for those experiencing a traumatic event. Additionally volunteers would need to be reliable, to be respectful of law enforcement and first responders, have a personal cell phone with a data plan, have a valid driver’s license, have valid auto insurance and have a reliable vehicle. VCR volunteers respond with immediate assistance to support the needs of victims/survivors of crime and those in crisis, primarily with emotional support, safety, information, and community referrals; they enhance the quality of justice by fostering an increased willingness of victims/survivors and witnesses to cooperate with law enforcement after they have reported a crime; they assist law enforcement officers by attending to the immediate on-scene emotional needs of victims/survivors of crime and crisis; and they attend monthly training meetings to develop personal skills and team building.

All volunteers go through 24 hours of training and will be matched with VCR mentors. Cross-Cultural Friendship Partner

The clients that World Relief Fox Valley serves experience a time of adjustment into US culture as they seek to become self-sufficient. Creating a welcoming environment by giving your time and friendship will mean more to your partner than anything else you can give. Americans can feel overwhelmed by the desire to give material items when we see individuals who have very little. In the end, the best thing you can give to your partner will be friendship, time and encouragement.

Fun Cross-Cultural Activities

Each Community Mentor/ Friendship Partner is encouraged to make this experience their own. Plan activities for your partner that would be fun for them and for you. Organize a picnic, celebrate your (or their) holidays over a meal, take them to concerts or other events in the community. The sky is the limit! 

ELL (English Language Learner)

Tutor your partner in English to supplement the instruction that they receive in their ELL programs.  Examples can include: practicing dialogue from their ELL program’s curriculum, flash cards, play charades, label furniture with paper titled with correct English names, children’s books (especially with audio books included).

We need help painting our upstairs bedrooms! At the COTS Men's building located on Koeller St. in Oshkosh, we are looking for volunteers to help finish painting men's bedrooms. The faster the bedrooms are finished the faster we can accept new residents to move in!

Our Oshkosh office will be relocating on January 20, 2020.  Our firm policy is to retain closed files for a period of ten years.  After the move, we will need volunteers who are willing to help organize the files in our new space.

Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes is always looking for volunteers to come into our office (or we can come to you with materials too) and assemble marketing materials seasonally.  For example we may have a need to create new member goody bags, holiday parade candy canes, teacher flyers, school mailings, cookie sales kits, or camp kits.  

We are looking for a photographer to take professional headshots of our staff.  There are currently ten attorneys, three paralegals, and one IT manager in the Oshkosh office. 

Our furniture department is looking for help attending to our donation drop off. This would consist of helping customers unload their donations or load up their purchases. They will then be sorted out to various departments. The days of operation for our drop off are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. With this position you will be both outdoors and indoors. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs. There are no minimum hourly requirements, and we have flexible scheduling available. Come support the community through charitable works!

Partner with the Girl Scout staff to change the lives of girls in our community! Board members attend four meetings a year and represent Girl Scouting in their communities. They share their expertise and open doors for financial gifts to Girl Scouts in their communities.

Assist customers at jewelry counter. Sort, price, and put out jewelry and cosmetics. This is a predominantly seated position, and low impact. We have openings Tuesday through Thursday at this time. 3.5 hours preferred, but we are willing to work with shorter shifts if need be.
