Volunteer: Urgent Need! Cooking for a Large GroupDo you like to cook for a crowd? Have we got the opportunity for you! Traditionally, Meal Teams have prepared a meal at home, and brought it to the shelter, warm, to serve. At this time, Day by Day is looking for volunteers who are interested in forming a team to prepare meals for 55. We have a warming kitchen with an oven, warming rack, and steam table for serving here at the shelter. We do have an industrial dishwasher and reusable trays, cups, mugs, silverware, etc. Some teams prefer to bring in disposable items to save time and skip the dishes. *Volunteers under 18 may assist with meal but must be with and near a guardian at all times.* Organization: Day By Day Shelter Do you like to cook for a crowd? When Day by Day does not have a meal team, meal is provided by the Shelter. Our guests favorite Shelter provided meal is Casserole Smorgasbord. If you make a casserole for your family, consider making a second and dropping off at Day by Day. We will happily freeze to use for a future meal. Day by Day also serves snack and a continental breakfast, and baked goods and leftovers dropped off from large gatherings are always a fun surprise and a generous treat.
