Volunteer: Volunteer for the 29th Annual Day of Caring


Join Oshkosh Area United Way for our annual Day of Caring on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Each year, volunteers from local businesses, organizations, and the community come together to
support nonprofits, schools, and community partners across southern Winnebago County.
In just one morning, you can help move important work forward.

Last year, more than 200 volunteers made an impact—and we’re ready to do it again.


What You'll Do

Projects vary but may include:

Basic gardening, landscaping, and outdoor cleanupCleaning and organizing spacesPaint prep and paintingAssisting seniors with light household tasksAssembling shelves and other furnitureWriting thank-you or encouragement notes Sharing professional skills like reviewing policies or handbooks, budget creation or financial forecasting, data entry, IT support, or risk management.

Each project supports local organizations working to improve lives across our community.


Event Details

8:00 a.m.-8:50 a.m. – Breakfast & kickoff (Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh – Radford Gym, Door 3)
9:00 a.m.-Noon – Community Service Projects

✔ Light breakfast provided
✔ Water and snacks available (thanks to Verve, a Credit Union)
✔ Free United Way t-shirt for all volunteers


How to Sign Up

Register as an individual or as a team by clicking the “Respond” button by Friday, May 1.

Team Leaders: If registering a team, include a team name and complete the custom questions once on behalf of the entire team—individual team members do not need to answer them.

Project details will be shared via email the weeks of May 4 and May 11.

Day of Caring is a simple way to take action locally. Your time helps organizations continue supporting individuals and families across our community.

Can't Participate That Day?

You can still get involved by hosting a basic needs collection drive to support the OAUW Community Vault.

Most-needed items include:

Cleaning supplies (dish soap, laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaners, and toilet cleaner)Newborn diapers Baby wipes

Your support helps local families access essentials they need every day.
