Emergency Shelter- The Christine Ann Center offers safe, accessible, temporary housing for those with immediate safety concerns due to domestic violence. Services such as safety planning, emotional support, and assistance with accessing community resources are provided in a welcoming and supportive environment where clients' basic needs are met. The shelter now has also implemented a pet program, so survivors are able to bring their pets with them to the shelter.
Transitional Housing Program- Our Transitional Housing program has 11 on-site apartments. This program is designed to bridge the gap between emergency shelter and full independence. While in the program, survivors may work on further education, employment, financial literacy, divorce/custody, permanent housing, and more.
24-hour Crisis Line- Trained Advocates respond to needs of callers any time of day or night, every single day of the year, providing emotional support, education on power and control tactics, effects of abuse, and healthy relationships, and information about community resources available in Winnebago and Green Lake Counties.
Advocacy (general)- Our Advocates work to meet a person where they are at in their journey by providing trauma informed safety planning, emotional support, and lower-level legal work such as restraining orders. They are also able to assist with exploring options, provide information on and referrals to community resources, and provide education on abuse dynamics and healthy relationships. Advocates are available to meet with you at our offices in Oshkosh, Menasha and/or Green Lake.
Legal Advocacy- Our Legal Advocate can assist clients with exploring legal options and resources. This may include providing support and education as they participate in the criminal or civil legal system, help with restraining order paperwork, give education about the divorce or separation process, and provide referrals to legal resources in the community. Legal Advocate is available to meet with you in our Oshkosh or Menasha office.
Support Groups- Support Groups at Christine Ann provide a safe environment for adults to come together with others who share similar experiences and discuss the effects of domestic abuse, learn about power and control dynamics and qualities of healthy relationships, and share your personal story. Along with providing a space to share, Christine Ann also provides a space to escape from everyday life and learn new techniques to practice self-care in our weekly self-care group. Childcare can be provided upon request.
Youth Services- The Youth Team at Christine Ann provides support and education for awareness of issues surrounding domestic and dating violence for children and teens. Advocates work closely with youth to understand healthy relationships, build self-esteem, identify, and express feelings, as well as create individualized safety plans. Services are also available for aggressive youth and teens who struggle to express their feelings in a healthy manner. Advocates provide 1:1 and group support, as well as parent support and assistance in developing a family safety plan. Services are provided in Winnebago and Green Lake County schools and at the Christine Ann offices in Oshkosh, Menasha, and Green Lake.
