Helping People Help Themselves

What We Do

ADVOCAP's  Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) supports:

Students: provides one on one assistance to children in grades K-12, provides school readiness to preschool children, and read books to preschool children through local Home and Community Education groups.

Older Adults:  Provide companionship visits or phone calls to older adults, have lunch with an ADVOCAP home delivered meal participant and serve meals and perform other meal site duties such as setting and cleaning tables and washing dishes.

Hunger:  Distribute food at local food pantries, assist participants in locating pantry items and pick up donations from are grocery stores.

Community:  Manage donations by collecting, sorting and putting items out for display at local thrift stores, knit mittens or sew quilts for those in need in Oshkosh and Menasha, Sing with the Red Hat Honey's or perform with the SCAMP Band in Fond du Lac, build homes with local Habitat for Humanity programs and assist with variety of other opportunities designed to help area non-profit agencies to succeed.

Transportation:  Winnebago County Volunteers provide transportation to children referred by Winnebago County Department of Health & Human Services (DHS) and  seniors referred by Winnebago County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), and provide transportation to area Veterans refereed by Winnebago County DHS or Veteran's Services.
