Who We Are
Mission
Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth
Vision
All youth achieve their full potential
History
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States. As an affiliate, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley region (BBBS) was born in 1968 and has created thousands of life-changing friendships between a caring adult (Big) and a youth in need (Little).
Furthermore, Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha was founded in 1973 as Big Sisters of Neenah-Menasha. The organization addressed a pressing community need for young females to have caring adult mentors. Their mission focused on helping young people thrive through the power of mentoring friendships and supportive family networks.
As of January 1, 2020, the teams at Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley Region have combined their efforts. The organizations merged to become Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin and will continue to serve all our communities through innovative programs, dedicated volunteers, and remarkable youth.
What We Do
Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers and youth. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Our purpose is not to create potential, but rather to defend it. We are an organization that strives to make a BIG impact on the lives of youth.
