Who We Are

Reach Counseling is a sexual assault service provider for children and adults that offers culturally responsive outreach, prevention education, victim advocacy, trauma counseling, and sex offender treatment. As an anti-violence agency, we strive to heal lives and transform communities. Reach envisions a socially just community that prioritizes and empowers healing for all impacted by sexual violence.

Empowerment

We provide culturally responsive services to empower survivors to make their own choices by building resiliency through individuals’ strengths and experiences.

Accountability

We are clear, honest and consistent in our expectations. Our team holds ourselves personally and professionally accountable for our actions while rejecting violence and all forms of oppression.

Collaboration

We encourage active listening, teamwork and communication to guide the way we interact with our co-workers, clients, volunteers and community.

Healing

We strive to be a judgement-free place of safety and healing for all by offering trauma-informed, compassionate care that promotes wellness of mind, body and spirit.

History

Reach Counseling has a 45-year history of meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities throughout the Fox Valley. Established in 1976 as the Winnebago County Sexual Assault Response Team, the agency was dedicated to the prevention of sexual abuse, incest and rape, and to offer advocacy and support to victims.

With an ongoing commitment to the well-being of the Fox Valley, the agency became a licensed outpatient mental health clinic in 1993. Adding long-term, outpatient clinical services to prevention education, advocacy, counseling and offender treatment programs created a systemic approach of prevention, response and treatment. By 2001, Reach was working with hundreds of individuals and families annually through counseling and advocacy, understanding how incidents of sexual and physical abuse create trauma responses in the body and mind.

Reach has been a leader in identifying changing needs and responding with innovative programming in education, outreach, counseling and treatment.

What We Do

Reach Counseling Services provides comprehensive services to heal and prevent sexual abuse and sexual assault.  Our four main program areas are:

Prevention Education:  Age appropriate presentations in schools throughout Winnebago County focusing on healthy relationships, sexual assault/abuse, and protective behaviors.

Advocacy:  Legal, medical and personal advocacy to victims in Winnebago County.  Our Native American, Southeast Asian, and Latina Advocates provide culturally sensitive/specific advocacy services to clients throughout Winnebago, Calumet, and Outagamie Counties.

Counseling:  Long term mental health treatment for adults, children, and families affected by sexual assault/abuse.  Child therapist sees children free of charge.  Groups also available.

Sexual Abuse Treatment Program:  Mental health treatment for offenders of sexual abuse/assault.

We utilize volunteers for Advocacy, Prevention Education, Outreach, Office Assistance, and Special Events.
