Who We Are
Fox Valley Literacy was founded 30 years ago. We serve the tri-county Fox Cities area, including Appleton and surrounding rural communities. Our learners are adults. Some of them have jobs and others are looking for a job. Some have had an education, while others have not had this opportunity. They might be single or married; they might be parents or grandparents. Some were born and raised right here in the Fox Valley, while others are from countries around the world.
What We Do
Fox Valley Literacy shares the power of learning to transform lives and build community. We pair students with volunteer tutors for one-on-one lessons. Our services are provided to students free of charge, and we provide the training for our volunteers. Students' lives are enhanced by literacy through the ability to read, achieve educational goals, improve employment skills, and participate in civic engagement. Fox Valley Literacy provides a great opportunity for volunteers to build connections that improve the lives of individuals and strengthen our community.
