Emergency Room- Volunteers assist Emergency department staff, patients and visitors with a variety of duties to enhance the customer service in Emergency Services.
Patient Care Unit 2- Volunteers provide light clerical duties, department specific tasks, and provide general assistance to department staff, visitors, and patients with non-medical aspects of care. Volunteers do not perform patient care tasks that require the training or education of a Certified Nursing Assistant or licensed health care employee. Volunteer duties include set-up of surgical rooms for patients arriving the next morning and assist nursing staff with non-medical aspects of patient care.
Rehab Unit - Socialize, read to patients or other individual activities as directed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform errands on and off of the patient care area.
- Assist nursing staff with non-medical aspects of patient care.
- Assist in keeping public areas, equipment rooms and hallways neat and tidy.
- Assist in keeping supplies stocked.
- Transport or escort Patients as deemed appropriate by nursing personnel following hospital procedure.
**Volunteers are needed to give of their time and compassionate talents for approximately four hours a week in a variety of positions at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.
